Mark the grocery bag “shred, burn)
(For old, unopened bills with name and account info)

Put on some nice music.

Go throughout all the nooks and crannies and find all of your bills.

Trash
Water
Sewer
Credit card 1
Credit card 2
Student loans
Payday Loans
Collections
Tax bills
Overdraft notices
Disconnection notices (yep, I had those too)

 

I know you have multiples, so put them into piles on the floor.

DirectTV gets its own pile
Electric gets its own
Student loans
Etc

Let’s start with the smaller ones first.

Look at that DirectTV pile.

Pick it up and find the most recent bill and put it in the “Today” box.

Put all the other DirectTV bills in the “burn/shred” bag.

Do this for all the other bills.

It may take days and that’s OK.
