Case in point: a recent trip to Provence-I took lots of pics with Mr. W in them. They turned out weird-he was upset. I couldn’t figure it out. I kept trying to tell him ” you don’t look like that in person!” “He looks fit in person, what is this camera doing?”

So, we did an experiment: above are his hands. On the top, taken without zooming-sausage fingers. On the bottom, zoomed in-not exact but closer to his real hands.

The most accurate lens is 135mm.

So, if you’re beating yourself up from a smartphone photo, don’t worry, just back up and zoom next time.
