Happy Thanksgiving to my US readers!
I am thankful for so many things- mostly being pain free everyday and being retired.
Both are huge blessings that would not be possible without the help of others.
Here are two cute Thanksgiving stories:
When my husband was a child, he had a Basset hound named Napoleon who somewhat terrorized the kids. Momma “WannaBe” had set the turkey in a pan in the garage to keep cool before baking (cold Midwest). With his short legs, Napoleon found the raw turkey and had his way with it-
for 2 hours.
Needless to say, Napoleon “went to live at a farm” shortly thereafter.
When I was a teen, I was helping my first stepmom make pumpkin pies. She was hosting a big dinner and wanted everything to be perfect. She measured out the spices for the pie and just before we started to stir she whispered in a panic “OH NO!” That’s not cinnamon! That’s chili powder! Quickly, we scooped out as much as we could, replacing with chili powder with cinnamon. Everyone loved the pies and said it had something special about it. We shot knowing glances at each other and kept it a secret for years until her early passing many years ago.
I love Thanksgiving.
It’s all about others 🙂
