I saw an electric car in London last week. The charging station belonged to edf energy.
Curious, I checked out their website. As with US electricity providers, they use a mix of sources to generate electricity, including nuclear, coal and some renewables. A map of the edf nuclear stations:
The main precipice in London seems to be lack of emissions. It IS nice to have fairly clean smelling air (aside from the obvious “scent” outside of pubs).
If you have never been to Lima, Peru one can almost taste the air-diesel exhaust from the buses and fresh bread.
In London, I did like the lack of a pious bumper sticker and more truth in advertising there. It was all about lack of exhaust rather than “I’m better than you”.
Food or exhaust for thought…

Check this out. PM 2.5 worse than Beijings as a result of all the diesel transport. Beijing wins on the basis of PM10 – but this was interesting
